Keep Moving Forward

Stories are a funny thing. In books and movies, more often than not, they are extremely predictable. You can see the plot twists and guess the endings. They follow a formula that we can depend upon.

Real life is anything but! It is a grand adventure that holds within it the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. It is less like a book and a whole lot more like a symphony written by a grand and creative composer. There are surprises at every turn and a season for everything!

The last year has been full of many seasons, but most recently it has been a season of healing and growing! During this time the blog had to be set aside.  Honestly, for most of this past year, writing and blogging was not even an option. I have needed all of my mental and physical energy to just keep my family going.

Keep Moving Forward

One of my family’s favorite movies is Meet The Robinsons.  It is wonderful for so many reasons, but one of my favorite aspects of the movie is its lesson of “Keep moving forward!”. The writers got the idea from a famous quote of Walt Disney,

“Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we’re curious…and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”

Around here we don’t look back for very long either! I want us to be a family that keeps moving forward, not just because of our curiosity, but because we were made for greater things! We have learned a lot this past year. We have watched God perform incredible miracles on our behalf! We enjoyed some wonderful food. We have had quite the year! Thank God, even though there were days that it felt like it, my story did not end there! We are in a new season! Our prayers are being answered and we are exceptionally excited for the great adventures ahead! It’s a new day and we are on to a next chapter!
